Not much: p2 is smaller by about 60K (thanks to some fat-trimming while we were
working on the next major update). The main difference is the updated contact info.
WHAT’S NEW IN GUMSHOE 1.0.3/1.0.3p1?
• The Extended Info window has been totally re-arranged for ease of use and compactness. It now fits within the built-in monitor of SE’s and Pluses.
• Added a button to the Extended Info window to allow you to pick a file with the same Creator and/or Type you would like to use for the item displayed.
• Additional support for ‘vers’ resources. Previous versions of Gumshoe displayed (and edited, in Extended mode) only ‘vers’ resources with an ID of 1 (the area in the Finder’s “Get Info” window labeled “Version”), and only for applications. Gumshoe 1.0.3 adds support for displaying and editing ‘vers’ resources with an ID of 2 (the line immediately below the name in the Finder’s “Get Info” window). Both ‘vers’ resources are now supported for all types of files (not just applications).
• System extensions and control panels are now listed as such in the “Kind” area (both Standard and Extened mode).
• Serial number protection. You now have 21 days to examine Gumshoe and decide if you want to keep it. At the end of the 21 day free trial period, if you still haven’t registered your copy, Gumshoe will lock you out until you send your registration fee and receive a serial number to re-activate your copy.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN FUTURE VERSIONS OF GUMSHOE:
The next major addition to Gumshoe (already in the works) is a full-featured built-in icon editor. We don’t want to give too much away, but when we say full-featured, we mean it!
Beyond that, the only definite plan we have for the future of Gumshoe is an editor for all those System resources most folks always wished there was an easy way to change (boring icons, renaming the Trash and/or menu items, etc.).
